Consorzio di tutela del Bardolino is giving value to the three historic districts thanks to a subsidiariety agreement aimed at promoting Monte Baldo area Consorzio di tutela del Bardolino together with Unione Montana del Baldo-Garda, Marchio del Baldo Association and Mag Verona are working on a project to promote Montebaldo wines and Verona as well.

Montebaldo district is one of the three historic Bardolino’s districts acknowledged by a procedural guideline dated April 14th, 2021, therefore it is the very first one being involved in a process of promotion. The aim of the recently-undersigned subsidiariety agreement is Monte Baldo promotion, a place whose strenghts can be summed up in a huge variety of typical products, breathtaking panoramas, open-air sports areas, ancient traditions and a relevant, historical and cultural heritage.

“We believe cooperation is essential – Franco Cristoforetti, President of Consorzio di tutela del Bardolino says – not only to promote our typical products, such as Montebaldo Bardolino, but also to protect its natural environment. We would also like to apply the ongoing promotion of Montebaldo cru to the two districts left, La Rocca and Sommacampagna, since three different organizations of the Consorzio representing each area are currently working on their promotion”.

So far 266.000 Montebaldo Bardolino DOC bottles have been produced for a total amount of approximately 4 millions euros, a market positioning between 10-20 euros. Labels played an important role in marking the historic Montebaldo cru, whose existence dates back to 1825 in the Bardolino production area together with La Rocca and Sommacampagna. Moreover, Baldo is considered to be the “Europe garden” due to its biodiversity and panoramas.
